A Century of Passion at the Col des Rangiers
The 100th anniversary of the first Rangiers Race celebrates a legacy of courage and speed. Join us for this memorable event on May 23 and 24, 2026.
History
On December 6, 1924, around twenty motoring enthusiasts founded a section of the Automobile Club of Switzerland. On May 24, 1925, it was officially admitted into the ACS.
On May 16, 1926, the section organized the first hill climb race between Develier and Les Rangiers. The winner was Mr. Joseph Fleury from Porrentruy, who covered the 7,500 meters at the wheel of his Panhard-Levassor in 6 minutes 24 3/5 seconds.
This hill climb race between Develier and Les Rangiers was held 11 times between 1926 and 1951.
Due to the issue of closing the only road linking Ajoie to Delémont or the Franches-Montagnes, the organizers were forced to find a new route to avoid blocking this important traffic axis. The chosen route was the road linking St-Ursanne to Les Malettes.
On September 3, 1955, the organizers bid farewell to Develier and welcomed St-Ursanne. This marked the first edition on the new course, and also the 12th hill climb organized by the ACS – Les Rangiers Section.
In 2026, ASA St-Ursanne – Les Rangiers will organize a commemorative round between Develier and Les Rangiers to mark the 100th anniversary of the first edition. It will take place on May 23 and 24, 2026.

Revenues mainly come from registration fees, sponsorship, and grants.
The total budget for this single edition is around 125,000 CHF.
